Job responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, qualified Social Worker with the relevant skills and experience to join our workforce as the Team Manger for our Huntingdon and Fenland area. This is a full time, permanent role. We are Mental Health Social Work (MHSW) and cover the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire areas.
You will be leading a team of Social Workers, Senior Social Workers and Support Worker to deliver an effective (statutory) Older Adults Mental Health Social Care service for people who need the support and are ordinarily resident in the area. You will work alongside other Team Managers who cover other areas. You must be AMHP qualified, or willing gain this qualification - you will be supported with this.
We have embraced new ways of working, enabling staff to have flexible and hybrid approaches to working from home and the office. We also understand the value to being with your team in person and the support that this brings.
We are looking for an exceptional Team Manager to join us on our journey.

What will you be doing?This social work role is focused on supporting adults who are experiencing severe and complex mental health difficulties. We work within the multidisciplinary mental health team to provide a social work perspective and support people to move towards recovery, in whatever this means for them. We focus on early intervention and prevention in order to support peoples independence and connections within their communities.
As a social work service, we undertake Adult Social Care Assessments and support planning under The Care Act 2014 to consider peoples strengths and needs and work in partnership with them to source solutions and interventions. We often work with the most vulnerable in society and our social workers are skilled at negotiating complex situations which may require skilled interventions, decision-making and action. We work within current Adult Social Care legislation and complete mental capacity assessments and best interest decisions. We proactively safeguard people in consideration of risks and protect people from harm whilst protecting their Human Rights and empowering people in their decisions.
As a Mental Health Social Work team, we are also skilled in negotiating the local authoritys statutory duties with regards to S117 Mental Health Act 1983 aftercare. This includes completing multidisciplinary S117 reviews as well as pursuing joint support agreements with the ICB.
We are a small and supportive team who meet up regularly in person to support the connections within the team and to support each other in our wellbeing and development.
The posts main base will be at Union House, Cambridge. However, it will be possible for the post holder to spend time at different sites across the county as well as to work from home regularly.
About youYou will be responsible for managing the delivery of a high-quality and effective integrated specialist health and social work service. This service is designed to address the needs of service users and their families promptly, while ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and service specifications.
Collaboration with local partners is a key aspect of the role, ensuring the effective management and delivery of the Mental Health Social Work provision. You will also oversee the individual team staffing budget, as well as manage a devolved budget for funded care packages, making sure that all systems for delegated financial authority are strictly followed.
As a registered AMHP manager, you will perform duties that include contributing to the AMHP duty system as agreed. It is essential that you ensure duties and obligations under the Care Act are upheld, and that all activities align with CCC/CPFT standards for case note recording and the implementation of the information-sharing agreement.
Additionally, youll be responsible for ensuring compliance with CCC/CPFT mandatory training requirements. You will take the lead in providing professional supervision to Senior Social Workers and Social Workers within the team, ensuring that supervisory activities are thoroughly and appropriately recorded.
