Job summary
Cambridgeshire County Council is looking to appoint a Commissioning Officer on a Fixed Term basis until March 2026 to its Adult Commissioning Team. The post will be based at our offices at Alconbury/Huntingdon, and we offer hybrid working, supported by flexible and agile working practices. Some travel will be required across the county. Main duties of the job
You will support Commissioners and/or Contract Managers to deliver efficient and effective operation of the Adults & Health commissioning function with a specialism in Adult Social Care, ensuring delivery of strategic priorities and commissioning intentions. You will support the development and implementation of commissioning plans and strategies across the commissioning cycle. You will be supporting market management and the ongoing development of service provision and quality through facilitating effective collaboration and joint working throughout the procurement process, including people and stakeholder engagement events. You will understand how commissioned services are performance managed and support commissioners and contract managers are to develop innovative and effective ways to improve services throughout contract lifetimes. You will have the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders. You will have excellent communication skills that enable you to present, sometimes complex information, clearly and concisely to a range of people. You will have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills that enable problem solving across a wide range of issues. You will have some knowledge of the legislation and guidance that governs adult social care (Care Act 2014) and an understanding of the pressures and opportunities facing local authorities and the adult social care market in Cambridgeshire. You will understand contract management and a general knowledge of Cambridgeshire County Council. It is anticipated that shortlisting for this job will take place by 30th May 2025 and interviews will be the following week.
