You will need
- a willingness to learn and grow.
- the ability to cope with the physical demands of the role which involves significant moving and handling of non-mobile CYP
- effective communication skills as these are really important for successful team working in a variety of settings
- the ability to work independently, once trained, due to the variety of situations you may be assigned to is essential and you will be given all the tools necessary to achieve this
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in education or health and social care.
Main duties of the job
Your role and responsibilities:
If you are as passionate as we are about enabling all children and young people (CYP) to reach their full potential, we welcome you to apply for this unique role supporting the medical needs of CYP in both the school and home settings.
You will:
- support CYP withcomplex medical needsto access school or other educational settings
- collaborate with both education, health, and social care colleagues to optimise our CYPs wellbeing which brings a unique opportunity for multiagency working.
This role is incredibly varied, challenging and rewarding and we feel proud that we can make a positive impact on our CYP, and their families lives each and every day.
All the training will be provided, and you will be fully supported by childrens nurses on your journey to becoming a competent and trusted practitioner enabling CYP to experience an enriching life with their peers.

The team
- The team provides high quality 1-1 support for CYP with complex health needs to access education. The type of interventions you will deliver are dependent on the CYPs individual school health care plan and may include tube feeding, administration of medication, oral suction, tracheostomy care, wound care, administration of oxygen.
