Job summary

We are looking for an exceptionally strong and experienced operational leader with a clear track record of success in partnership working, with an emphasis on integration. Able to demonstrate innovation to shape the future of adult health and social care services in the West of the county, ensuring that we make a real difference to the lives of residents.

Main duties of the job

Key deliverables will include:

  • The creation of a high-performance culture within the ACS directorate that is flexible, innovative, responsive to changing priorities and empowers people to deliver excellence, best value and continuous improvement for the people of Suffolk.
  • A clear focus on customer, families and community needs ensuring preventative and long-term sustainable solutions which enable people to live long and fulfilling lives by maximising their independence.
  • The development of a highly effective, collaborative and inspirational Management Team demonstrating strong leadership for our staff and partners.
  • Excellent leadership ensuring effective operations in planning, programme development, human resources and staff development, business development, and financial oversight.
  • Effective system leadership, building trust and developing shared priorities with the Area Directors, partners and stakeholders
  • Leadership of appropriate networks, boards and individual stakeholder relationships across the county system in order to influence increased integration and collaborative working.
  • Collaborative, integrated outcome-based service planning that takes account of national performance standards, statutory and local performance plans and ensures the personalisation of social care services for adults is achieved
  • Effective communication strategies for sharing the vision and plans with staff, partners and the public to ensure there is clear understanding.

This is a key role within the organisation and the wider Suffolk System, located within the Adult and Community Services (ACS) directorate. The main purpose of this role is to contribute to the effective leadership of the Adult and Community Services area team, delivering good quality services and effective integration between health and social care through collaboration with stakeholders and partners across the system to deliver better outcomes for the people of Suffolk.

You will also work with Area Directors, County Councillors, the Director of Adult Social Care as well as health leaders to deliver the councils political and strategic agendas and lead specific projects and programmes.

You will lead the area social work teams to deliver the highest standards of social care, re-ablement and therapy services for the people of Suffolk.

System leadership will be a key part of the role, as integration with health, voluntary sector and sector partners are key components of transforming service delivery, ensuring health and social care systems are joined up and accessible for all our service users.
