Main duties of the job

To join us you need tobe afirst levelRegistered Nurse(RNA, RNMH, RNC, RNLD)orMidwifeand be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.We are particularly keen to receive applications from nurses and midwives who have experience of working in areas such as mental health, sexual health, working with children, young people and families and working in the community.You willbeable to understand the needs of children and young people toassistyou inundertakingclear and detailed assessments at both individual and community level includingassessment ofhealth needsandidentifyingrisks.You willwork alongsidehealth visiting and school nursing teams andcontribute towards delivering the Healthy ChildProgrammeand providespecific targeted interventionsas wellasdeliveringhealth promotionand public healthactivities.We are seeking individuals who are motivated, enthusiastic and who are passionate aboutwanting to support the provisionof high-quality servicesthat improvesoutcomes for children, young people,families,and communities.Your ability to plan andprioritiseyour own workload and theability to travel to a range of venues and settings is essential.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Local and National Safeguarding Policies and Procedures
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge and understanding of the impact of long term health and social issues on health and wellbeing

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Healthy Child Programme, child development and related policies and pathways
  • Understanding and experience of safeguarding children and young people and the impact on the child and family

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to a range of audiences including children, young people, parents and carers and professional colleagues
