To provide evidence based public health nursing practice that promotes and improves health and addresses inequalities at individual, family, and community level. Lead the delivery of the healthy child programme to improve health and wellbeing and safeguard children, young people, and families.

The Partnership Protection Team,specifically work with children and young people who are subject to safeguarding plans, providing targeted interventions to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for this vulnerable group of children, young people, and families within the Borough.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be a registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN)with sound knowledge and understanding of the Healthy Child Programmeand related policies and pathways. You will need to be able to identify risk, assess, plan, and deliver care, providing evidenced based interventions to support children, young people, and families within Barnsley.Be a highly motivated, innovative, and adaptable practitioner who is committed totaking a child centred approach with the ability to identify health needs as early as possible and improve health and wellbeing by promoting health, preventing ill health, and reducing inequalities.You will need to be able to plan andprioritiseyour own workload and the ability to travel to a range of venues and settings is essential.

To join the PPT you will be an experienced SCPHN, with sound knowledge and understanding of the complexities of working with vulnerable families and the impact of abuse and neglect on child development with aproven ability to engage in effective multi-disciplinary teamwork.
