We have 2 permanent dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Hub Senior Social Work Practitioner posts available as follows:

*Rolling rota AMHP Grade 12 SSWP. This involves working an 8 week repeating pattern that essentially consists of 7-3 shifts one week and 2-10pm another and includes some weekend hours, bank holidays (additional pay when worked) with an enhancement of 18%.

*AMHP Grade 12 SSWP Monday Friday 2-10pm. This is paid a fixed enhancement of £4,471.56 per annum paid monthly at £372.63.

Each of these roles will involve a combination of going out to assess under MHA and working as a lead to take referrals and triage / prioritise according to risk.

The base location for these roles are Bridge House, Worthing but generally these roles are remote working. Please note that the AMHP hub covers the whole of WSCC.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered qualified professional (Social Work, Nurse, OT, psychologist).
  • Currently authorised as an AMHP (Post-Grad Certificate in Mental Health).
  • Extensive knowledge of and be able to apply, a range of complex and specialist legislation i.e. the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Children Act and other relevant case law.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Extensive experience of working independently undertaking MHA assessments - Essential.
  • Extensive experience of working in Multi-Disciplinary settings - Desirable.
  • Experience as an AMHP with extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act and mental health social work practice.
  • Practice Educator Award or commitment to undertake the training (or
  • equivalent).
  • Able to demonstrate a proven ability (or understanding of the skills and
  • knowledge required) to work independently as a senior practitioner managing risks and safeguarding.
