Work will be allocated by the team manager or their delegate based on eligibility criteria, with full case management responsibility for these assignments.

Key duties include completing enquiries and assessing the needs and risks of vulnerable children and young people promptly, while considering their wishes and those of their families. This encompasses S47 enquiries, single assessments, and engagement with service users and relevant professionals in appropriate settings such as homes, schools, or hospitals. The role requires taking timely action to address and reduce identified risks in accordance with assessment frameworks, child protection procedures, and legislation for looked-after children. In collaboration with the child, their family, and carers, the worker will develop and implement plans to resolve issues, ensuring participation and limiting social work intervention to what is necessary.
