Job summary
We invite you to join our Ongoing Support Teams at Wiltshire Council as we continue to strengthen our services to the citizens of Wiltshire by embedding strengths based practice and partnership working to promote peoples resilience, independence and wellbeing, and build strong communities. Our teams offers support and intervention to people aged 18 plus, who live with physical disabilities, chronic and long-term conditions, autism and sensory impairment.
Main duties of the job
The social work role includes:
- Working in partnership with people, their families and carers
- Undertaking Care Act 2014 assessments
- Reviewing needs and outcomes
- Providing short-term and long-term case management
- Progressing safeguarding enquiries
- Court of Protection work
- Working closely with health and multi-disciplinary colleagues
You will need to be registered with Social Work England, have sound knowledge and understanding of the Care Act 2014, a positive approach to risk, and be passionate about making a difference. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, completing strengths-based assessments, and the framework of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, as well as the Continuing Health Care framework are essential. Your ability to demonstrate your experience in these areas will be incremental to the level of position you are applying for. Experienced social workers have the additional responsibility of court work, and providing supervision to colleagues.

- - Must be able to write clear, complex and accurate reports.
- - Evidence of appropriate work experience and reflective learning from placement experience whilst qualifying as a Social Worker and of appropriate professional and personal development relevant to length of post-qualifying experience
