Wiltshire Educational Psychology Service (EPS) has a strong identity built on shared values of kindness, respect, and integrity. Collaboration is important to us, and we enjoy opportunities to work with other Educational Psychologists, Trainees' and Assistant Psychologists.
Our service is part of Wiltshires Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) service, and Educational Psychologists (EPs) are highly valued within the authority. We provide a range of services to support the local authority, including being involved in decision making processes, and supporting the development of new county-wide processes and initiatives.
Wiltshire EPS has strong links with Southampton and Bristol Doctoral programmes and all our EPs are offered opportunities to be involved in trainee supervision.
Main duties of the job
About the role
You will work as the link EP for a group of educational settings including preschools, mainstream schools, and specialist provision. Like many areas of the country, providing statutory advice is a core part of the EP role.
We also offer support to schools via our innovative subscription model and you will have opportunities to contribute to a wide range of work, including ELSA supervision and service development projects.
You will be an active participant in our regular CPD and supervision, and will be encouraged to develop areas of interest.

- A doctoral or masters level professional qualification in Educational Psychology, or is expected by the accrediting university to complete this professional qualification by the end of the year.
- Will be registered with the HCPC, or will be eligible for registration on completion of the professional qualification.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for a range of purposes and audiences.
- Ability to work independently and to organise time/workload efficiently, meeting deadlines where required.
- Basic IT competence, in Microsoft Office suite, word processing, entering spreadsheet data, and a willingness to learn other IT skills as required by developments in IT communications.
- Demonstrate ability to engage with school staff and parents and to engender their confidence in the professional skills brought to the role.
- A commitment to promoting equal opportunities and to ensuring that the voice of the child and parents are clearly heard.
