Public Health - Championing Community Well-being

Be part of shaping an approach that tackles the complexities of public health challenges head-on! We have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of community well-being within our Health Improvement team.

There are 2 specific roles that will focus on different areas of work within health improvement: smokefree society and a whole systems approach to obesity.

Were looking for two Public Health Specialists to contribute to Wiltshires priority of creating stronger and more resilient communities, and improving population health.

This is an opportunity to work closely with the Public Health Principal and Public Health Consultant and support their strategic work. You will be responsible for leading the strategic direction in areas of designated responsibility and will provide a specialist approach to reflect both national and local priorities, with the emphasis on prevention and reducing health inequalities.

As a Public Health Specialist, you will work within a complex multi-agency environment and work closely with statutory, non-statutory and voluntary agencies, this will require strong communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have the ability to analyse and interpret complex data and inform effective decision making.
