Job summary

Anatomical Pathology Technologist (APT) / Senior Anatomical Pathology Technologist (SENIOR APT):Band SO1/SO2: £32,076 - £36,648 pa depending on qualification and experience.

3 x 37 hours per week -Established -Permanent

Based at Bradford Public Mortuary and Forensic Science Centre at Burnham Avenue, Bradford

APT & Senior APT

The Public and Forensic Science Centre is a facility operated by Bradford Council on behalf of HM Coroner West Yorkshire (Western) for the local authority areas of Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale.

The Councils Imaging Autopsy Centre is able to undertake minimally invasive digital autopsies to seek to determine cause of death. You will be required to assist in all aspects of minimally invasive digital autopsy procedures at the direction of the radiographer.

We are looking for technically proficient, compassionate and flexible technologists who consistently work to high standards.

Applicants must be willing to participate fully and flexibly in the technolgist on-call service outside core operational hours, including at weekends and on bank holidays. A driving licence is required.

Main duties of the job

Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technologist

Band 6: £23,893 £25,979 pa

1 x 37 hours per week

TemporaryTrainee Anatomical Pathology Technologist

We are also looking for a Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technologist to undertake a training programme leading to completion of the Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology or level 3 health care science (Anatomical pathology technology). Applicants must be over 18 years of age at the date of appointment, have some knowledge and understanding of current mortuary practices and some experience of working in either a health care setting, hospital, mortuary or funeral directors.
