The Role:

This is an exciting time to join the team as we transform the way we deliver HR services across the council. Our Workforce Service is seeking a Workforce Analyst to support the drive for an evidenced-based approach to practice and a move to support strategic workforce planning across the council.

You will play a vital role in supporting data-driven decision making by providing valuable insights to the Workforce function.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Your primary function will be collecting, analysing and interpreting HR data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improving HR processes and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain HR dashboards and reports for stakeholders
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to understand data needs and produce customised reports and analytics
  • Keep up to date with HR trends, benchmarks and best practice to enhance analytics capability

Job Purpose

You will play a vital role in supporting data-driven decision making and providing valuable insights to the Workforce function. Your primary function will be on collecting, analysing and interpreting HR data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improving HR processes and initiatives.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

1. To collect, monitor and analyse HR data from various sources including employee surveys, performance evaluations and other relevant systems.

2.To validate HR data to ensure accuracy, consistency and data integrity and to identify data anomalies, outliers and data quality issues, taking corrective actions as necessary.

3.To use data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns and insights relating to HR metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

4.To develop and maintain HR dashboards, reports and presentations to effectively communicate HR data and insights to stakeholders.

5.To conduct statistical analysis and predictive modelling to support HR initiatives and identify potential risks or opportunities.

6.To collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop customised reports and analytics to meet their needs.

7.To deal with requests for HR information and create ad hoc reports as required.

8.To provide HR data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision making and drive HR initiatives.

9.To stay updated with HR trends, benchmarks and best practice to enhance HR data analysis capabilities.

10.To participate in HR projects and initiatives related to data analytics, including HR system implementation, process improvements and automation.

11.To maintain data privacy and confidentiality standards in handing sensitive HR data.

12.To collaborate with IT or external companies to optimise HR data management systems and ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
