To be successful you will need:
- Be a qualified registered healthcare professional.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health, Vocational Rehabilitation and core Occupational Health services
- Sound understanding of Health and Safety legislation and the Equality Act 2010
- Significant post registration experience or the ability to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge.
- Proven track record of Occupational Health and or Vocational rehabilitation within an occupational health team.
- Recent experience of auditing against SEQOHS standards and Clinical Governance.
- Recent experience and proven track record of influencing and implementing clinical protocols using research/evidence-based practice.
- Practiced in evidence-based assessment and intervention with regards to physical, cognitive, perceptual, psychological, sensory and social functioning.
- Experience of the development and implementation of return-to-work strategies, vocational rehabilitation, and support mechanisms.
Main duties of the job
This is a unique role as our Occupational Health Adviser Vocational Rehabilitation, you will work as an autonomous occupational health practitioner as part of a nurse led service working with the line manager, providing a clinical advice service for occupational health case management and health promotion programmes to the Council and contracted employers. By working clinically as a vocational rehabilitation specialist within the OH team you will ensure a high standard of advice and guidance is given to clients and managers. In addition to providing comprehensive general OH services, you will work proactively with staff and managers within the Council and to external contracts on work related health matters, particularly for the prevention of ill health and the maintenance and improvement of health and wellbeing. This includes effective management of clinical risk reporting to the line manager, within the OH governance framework. You will be integral to improving and monitoring the quality of occupational health best practice and the implementation of vocational rehabilitation.
This is a unique opportunity for an Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with Vocational Rehabilitation expertise to join our case management Team. You will be an experienced in case management and the provision of Occupational Health Advice. You will have NMC Part 1 or 3 registration or be a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
