About the Role

We are looking to recruit a qualified and an an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join our team.The person will be responsible for carrying out Choice and Suitability assessments that may lead into Partnership working with children, adolescents who present with emotional, psychological and/or mental health difficulties.

The post-holder will oversee the formulation, treatment and management plans for children and young people being supported using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to a CAMH Service.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a member of one of our community-based teams working in partnership with social care, health and education agencies. The post holder will be a trained CBT therapist and deliver therapeutic work. To deliver accessible services for children & young people with a range of emotional & behavioural difficulties. These vulnerabilities may include: Learning difficulties/disability, ASD, ADHD and/or developmental/conduct disorders. Children and Y/P who may have suffered trauma/abuse. Children/YP who are in need of sexual health advice and support.

CBT qualified practitioners will be expected to manage their own caseload and work with complex presentations

  2. To ensure delivery of appropriate services to children and their families, according to their assessed needs. This will include direct interventions based on a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions. To provide individual and group interventions with young people their families and communities. Making decisions and managing risk appropriately regarding effective care planning and pathways.

To maintain professional case records, including inputting onto the Departments information systems and accessing information from relevant registers. Producing reports to a high standard.

  • Accredited or eligible to apply for accreditation with the BABCP as CBT psychotherapist.
  • Relevant professional qualification, Social work, nursing or teaching, Dipsw, CSS, CQSW, QTS, RMN, NVQ 4 or above in a relevant field or core profession as defined in BABCP

Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of a range of therapeutic interventions and their application to practice for a wide range of mental health presentations. Including a sound knowledge of theory and its application to evidence-based practice.
  • Experience of providing effective interventions, facilitating group work, training and consultation.
  • Ability and experience of working with a range of agencies and other professionals and forming positive working relationships.
