Job summary

he postholder will work as a member of the Leicestershire Weight Management Service (Public Health) to deliver community-based activities in a variety of settings to promote positive changes to dietary behaviour for the residents of Leicestershire and Rutland. The postholder will deliver and develop locally based adult and children's weight management programmes including the Weight Management in Pregnancy programme. This will include delivering interventions to groups, individuals and health professionals across Leicestershire. The postholder will utilise several different communication methods such as web based, app support, telephone support and face to face contact to provide expert nutrition advice.

Main duties of the job

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A three/four year Undergraduate degree or a two year Post Graduate Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or BSc degree in Human Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition or similar subject area UK registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition
  • Has gained experience of different ways of caseload management and delivering services
  • Has a concept about the need for continued professional development and can give examples of how this can be achieved
  • Has gained experience of working with groups and individuals to provide evidence based information and can give examples of this, including preparation, delivery and evaluation of sessions
  • Has experience of delivering to diverse groupsIs aware of current topical public health nutritional issues and can give an opinion of one of these based on a sound evidence based.
  • Can report back on work undertaken
  • Can demonstrate abilities in organisation skills, time management, setting priorities, managing a small workload / caseload
  • Can use different approaches to communication with a wide variety of patients, both as individuals, in groups and with the public.
  • Is aware of the different communication needs within a culturally diverse community and how this may impact on professional practice.
