We are looking for a highly experienced and driven Senior Manager to lead our Operational Safeguarding Adults Team and Deprivation of Liberty Teams (DoL).This position is permanent, full time and based at County Hall, Morpeth. Salary is NCC Band 13 starting from £69,123, rising to £72,784.
Main duties of the job
As the Senior Manager of the Safeguarding Adults Team, you will be expected to play a critical management and leadership role in safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. You will oversee and manage the delivery of safeguarding services, providing operational direction and support to a team of safeguarding professionals. You will work closely with the safeguarding Adults Strategic Senior Manager and with a range of external agencies in the Local Authority led Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub as well as other key stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislation, best practice, and to improve outcomes for individuals at risk. This is a challenging role, for which you will need to be able to demonstrate confidence, be able to influence others and be skilled and adept at managing difficult situations and people.
As the Senior Manager for the DoL team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the DoLS process, ensuring that individuals who may be deprived of their liberty receive the necessary protections and that the local authority meets its statutory responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. You will lead a dedicated team of highly skilled professionals, providing guidance, leadership, and operational management to ensure effective, timely, and legally compliant assessments and authorisations. The role will also include, monitoring, analysing and reporting on statutory data for both service areas.
