Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join our enthusiastic countywide learning disabilities team in Northumberland!

The post is a permanent contract, full time at 37hrs per week.

This is an opportunity to make a difference. You will work alongside other professional, promoting strength based approaches to practice and service delivery to adults with Learning disabilities.

For this position you must have the following:

  • Degree is Social Work & registered with Social Work England
  • Experience of Social Work with adults you will have experience of working within Adult Social Care teams in particular with clients whose primary need is a learning disability.

Main duties of the job

You will work alongside and in partnership with individuals, families and carers using a range of interpersonal and communication skills in relationship to comprehensively assess complex psychosocial need, setobjectives, develop careplansand deliverappropriate interventions.

You will complete Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments and collaborate with a range of external services to access any resourcesrequiredto meet the care and support needs you haveidentified.

As you work to provide a comprehensive assessment, you willbenefitfrom a good balance of autonomy and support. You willbe responsible forthe day-to-day management of your caseload but will have regular supervision and the full support of your Team Manager.
