Job Title: Enablement Occupational Therapist / Senior Enablement Occupational Therapist East and North Herts Older People

Location: Working across East and North Hertfordshire

Starting salary depending on grade:

£33,820 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £37,261 per annum (Occupational Therapist)

£38,296 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £42,503 per annum (Senior Occupational Therapist)

Plus relocation package, £1,000 welcome payment & lease car* terms apply

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Main duties of the job

Work alongside some of the sectors most passionate professionals, as a Hertfordshire County Council Occupational Therapist. The Enablement Occupational Therapy Team provide support to older people and we promote personalisation through our assessment process, focusing on the wellbeing of the individual. The Enablement Occupational Therapists work alongside the care providers to deliver enabling programmes. Their input is time-limited, with intervention generally up to 4 weeks. The case worker for each service user continues to support through the enablement involvement period.

We support people in the community and on discharge pathways from Lister and Princess Alexandra Hospital. There will also be aspects of Prevention of Admission work for people in the community across the East and North Herts area.

This role involves responsibilities such as:

Undertaking assessments and goal setting with individuals and their carers. These assessments can include; reviews of moving an handling, provision of specialist equipment, & minor adaptations to support identified goals.

Designing personalised programmes that enable, and encourage the individual to relearn skills and regain abilities

Maximizing independence, health and well-being.

Promoting and supporting a strength-based approach to therapy intervention
