Job summary

The Public Health Division are recruiting a Policy and Programme Officer for Healthy Place on a permanent basis

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop Mertons approach to strategically supporting healthy environments and place in partnership with colleagues across the council housing regeneration planning transport and capitalising on wider external partnerships including other statutory organisations business the NHS and the voluntary sector

Main duties of the job

The role involves embedding approaches and interventions which address the wider determinants of health and which help reduce health inequalities and will prioritise embedding Health in all Policies across council strategies and plans and supporting LBM to become a Marmot Place

  • Educated to Masters degree level in Public Health/Health Policy/Planning or related subject or equivalent experience

  • Experience of using qualitative and/or quantitative data, and ability to collate, analyse, interpret and evaluate data to support project work and inform decision making
  • Experience in delivering projects to deadline
