Job summary
Our Short Term Bedded Services help Hampshire residents with timelydischarges andadmission avoidance, and provide community options,through strength based and person-centredassessment. As a qualifiedOccupational Therapistwith a current HCPC registration, youll provide first-class occupational therapy support to older adults, helping them to get back on their feet and ready to go home.
This role involves some weekend and bank holidays working, for which enhancements are paid in line with the HCC salary policy.
This is a 12-month temporary role, covering maternity leave in the team. We are hoping for the successful postholder to start on 1st September 2025 however we are open to discuss this.
Main duties of the job
- Conduct initial assessments for new residents and deliver appropriate interventions, enabling you to see first-hand the impact of your support.
- Establish positive and supportive connections with residents, their families, and carers.
- Tailor your care planning to meet the unique needs of each resident, ensuring person-centred care.
- Establishing a network of internal and external colleagues with whom you can share
- Build a network of internal and external colleagues, and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to share expertise and seek advice, to ensure comprehensive care.
What we're looking for:
- Newly qualified or experienced Occupational Therapists.
- An understanding of the statutory duties of local government in socialcare.
- Communication skills: Clear and effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Adaptability: Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing needs.
- Team player: Enjoy working closely with others to provide high-quality care.
- Problem-solving skills: Handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
- Empathy and compassion: Understand and share the feelings of others to build trust and provide emotional support.
- Respect and patience: Treat residents with dignity and adapt to their individual needs.
