About us
Emsworth House is currently a dual site providing a total of 78 beds residential and nursing beds for older adults, some of whom are living with Dementia. The home is due to start a journey of redevelopment over the next 3 years seeing extensive investment and construction to create a state-of-the-art, purpose built, service that focusses on the delivery of nursing care. The home is set in extensive, well-maintained grounds in Emsworth, a beautiful location at the top of Chichester Harbour in Hampshire, close to the border with West Sussex.
This is a really exciting time to be joining Emsworth House, which was rated Requires Improvement by CQC in April 2023. Dedicated resource has been ongoing at the home as part of a service wide transformation project focusing on quality, culture and improving outcomes. The service is now ready for a new leader to take the service forward maintaining continuous improvement.

- Provide responsive and flexible services that promote independence and are centred on each persons needs.
- Ensure care plans/services are regularly monitored and reviewed to ensure they comply with national and local policies and lead the Units staff through change.
- Develop and manage standards and systems to ensure clients and their carers are consulted on their care packages, that they receive the service that is appropriate to their individual needs and that complies with the Care Standards Act and promotes independence.
- Model, monitor and manage standards of care/service delivery within the unit/ service so that work practices are safe and services are delivered to the level required by the Department and relevant regulatory bodies and specific performance indicators and targets are met to a high standard.
- Use own knowledge and skill to advise and support first line managers/supervisors to achieve required service standards.
- Responsible at all times for the safety of people within their care/accessing services.
- Carry out and regularly review risk assessments on staff, service users, activities and equipment and ensure that identified control measures are complied with. I.e. safe and appropriate manual handling techniques, equipment and behaviour management strategies are used.
- Ensure staff are aware of evacuation procedures and these are regularly tested to demonstrate their familiarity with them.
- Ensure that electronic and paper systems to maintain and monitor individual residents/service users care plans and personal records are used effectively and comply with Departmental requirements.
