Job summary

Job responsibilities

In this role you'll be responsible for:

Supporting residents with meaningful activities:

  • Organising and participating in group activities in the communal rooms such as crosswords, board games and reminiscence activity.
  • 1-1 activities in residents rooms such as hand massages and reading to residents.
  • Helping residents keep in contact with families and friends via letters, phone calls or interactive technology.
  • Encouraging the physical, emotional and intellectual stimulation of residents to ensure a dignified and fulfilling life.
  • Improving their wellbeing by being aware of how they are feeling and taking time to sit and chat with the residents and their families.
  • Showing sensitivity and responsiveness in the provision of comfort and support.
  • Being responsive to the emotional needs of residents and offer comfort and support as appropriate.

Supporting residents with nutrition and hydration:

  • Supporting at all meal times with the serving of meals and assisting residents as needed.
  • Ensuring that residents are provided with drinks throughout the day and sitting with residents having a drink with them and general chatting.

Personal Care:

  • Assisting residents to the bathroom.
Supporting residents to access the community:

  • Assisting residents when attending medical appointments in the community.
  • Taking them shopping, to the library or any other venue they show an interest in.
