Calderdale Councils Adult
Services and Wellbeing Directorate is pleased to advertise an interesting and
engaging opportunity for a full-time Operations Manager in Prevention and Early
Help(P&EH). To qualify for this role, you must be a qualified social
worker/ occupational therapist or registered nurse.
P&EH teams provide a
vital role in ensuring that Calderdale Councils statutory duties are met under
the Care Act 2014 to provide information, advice, guidance, assessment and support
to people. The
post holder will recognise and demonstrate in their approach the importance of
staff development, welfare, practice, quality and performance.

internal, external colleagues, partners and stakeholders to continue to develop

Main duties of the job
As a collaborative leader, youll also work closely with the rest of our Senior Leadership Team, wider Council, Members, and key partners across the NHS, the private sector, the voluntary sector, and the police to influence good practice across the system to focus on improving outcomes for our residents as a whole system.

1. Manage the designated areas of social care, ensuring improved outcomes for people and
provide good value for money that best meet the needs of the localities of Calderdale.
2. Contribute to the redesign, improvement and development of services that build on best practice
between preventative and early intervention approaches alongside personalised and person centred
care and support models that maximise independence and increases choice and control.
3. Create a culture that ensures service delivery which reflects the different needs of Calderdale
Cares localities and the relative strengths of service providers and community assets. Promoting
creativity and innovation through personalised approaches to meeting individuals social care
needs, re-connecting them to their community and building on natural networks of support.
4. Ensure that teams deliver an effective, efficient service aligned to local needs, strategic plans
and our statutory requirements.
5. Build collaborative relationships with partners across the Council, Health, Third Sector,
Community Groups and our provider market.
6. Contribute to the identification of gaps in service provision and ensure services are fit for
purpose.
7. Identify opportunities for further transformation through broadening our approach to collaborative
working and integration across health and social care.
8. Manage multidisciplinary professional teams.
9. Responsible for delivery of budget action plans, budget management and budget settings.
10. Responsible for the achievement, performance, outcomes and objectives for a designated area.
11. Manage all aspects of risk and be accountable for the safety of staff, service users and
contractors in accordance with all statutory obligations and relevant health and safety policies.
12. Lead, co-ordinate and ensure the effectiveness of activities for the purposes of safeguarding and
promote the welfare of adults at risk of abuse in Calderdale.
13. Act as part of Extended Leadership Team to establish shared responsibility for the corporate
management of the Directorate, supporting cross directorate leadership and change.
