Social Workers (Adult Services)

Job summary

In Calderdale we recognise that people are the experts in their own lives and as a result we require Social Workers to challenge the circumstances and environments that marginalise, exclude or oppress. We want Social Workers who respect the dignity and diversity of the people we are here for. Our service is responsible for making sure people within our communities live as independently as possible for as long as possible. We take a proportionate approach and involve ourselves in people's lives in the least intrusive way possible and always in their best interests.

Main duties of the job

Our ambition is to

. Provide people with appropriate information, advice and support.

. Enable people to remain as independent as possible, with some short-term support if necessary.

. Incorporate peoples strengths and abilities when considering any help and support that may be needed.

. Deliver support in a way that enables people to live the life that they want while keeping safe.

. Review care and support regularly to make sure it remains appropriate.

. Treat people with dignity and respect and work with other organisations to get the best care and support possible.
