Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist who believes in promoting independence, strengths-based practice and person-centred care? We are looking to recruit up to three Band 6 Community Occupational Therapists to join our North Devon Community Teams, working across health and social care to make a real difference to peoples lives.
LocationThe post is based within the North Devon Community Team, with flexibility to work across localities depending on service need. Our bases include South Molton, Holsworthy, Bideford, Barnstaple and Ilfracombe.
About the roleAs a Community Occupational Therapist, you will use core occupational therapy skills and clinical expertise to support adults with complex needs to maximise their independence and achieve outcomes that matter to them.
Main duties of the job
You will:
Undertake strength-based, person-centred assessments in community settings, both face-to-face and via telephone.Lead on complex cases, including safeguarding, care planning and risk management.Recommend and provide equipment, environmental adaptations and reablement-focused interventions Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across health, social care, housing and the voluntary sector.Support hospital discharge, admission avoidance and community-based rehabilitation.Provide clinical supervision and support to Band 5 Occupational Therapists, non-registered staff and students.Contribute to service development, training and the promotion of occupational therapy practice.
What were looking for:
A qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registrationExperienced in working with adults in a community health and/or social care setting.
Confident managing complex cases, risk and safeguarding responsibilities
Skilled in assessment, activity analysis, moving and handling, and adaptive solutions.
Able to work autonomously while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car is required (reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010).
