Job summary

We have an opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our MASH team on a 2 year fixed term / secondment basis. This is a new and exciting role where the post holder will be involved in the development and implementation of Migration offer for children and families of Coventry. You will work closely with the Adult Services and the Migration Team to ensure a seamless approach is taken. The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) brings key professionals together to facilitate quality information sharing, analysis and decision-making, to safeguard vulnerable children, young people more effectively. Staff from across health, social care, police, and education are based in the MASH at any one time at its based in Broadgate House in the city centre. Our MASH is the front door to statutory services, by applying consistent thresholds based on Right Help, Right Time. We are looking for social workers who are committed to achieving the best for our children, young people, and families. We particularly welcome applications from those from under represented backgrounds and all walks of life to give our diverse city the greatest level of support it deserves. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Main duties of the job

You will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and Social Work England registration with experience in working with looked after children, child protection, court proceedings and completing assessments within timescales. As a Senior Practitioner/Deputy Team Manager within our Childrens Services Team, you will assume a crucial role in managing and delivering effective and efficient services for children, young people, and their families.

Your responsibilities include providing professional supervision, adhering to Social Work England's code of practice, and contributing to team development. This role involves complex assessments, case management, and collaboration with other agencies to ensure the well-being of service users. Flexibility and commitment to working outside office hours are essential to meet the diverse needs of families.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
