Team Manager – 16-25 Transitions Service

Bath & North East Somerset Council is dedicated to improving people’s lives, and we’re building a service designed to do just that for young people aged 14-25. We're looking for a compassionate and skilled social work leader to join us on this journey.

Why This Role?

  • Help Shape a New Service for Young People: Contribute to a ground-breaking service for youth transitioning into adult social care.
  • Career Growth & Rewards: Enjoy a competitive benefits package, including generous leave and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Flexible Working: Based at the Civic Centre, you’ll have flexible working options and opportunities to connect with communities, schools, and local organizations.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll lead a team focused on promoting independence and empowerment for young people. Your work will directly impact young lives, as you ensure that the voices of youth, their parents, and carers shape service delivery. You’ll drive positive change in collaboration with our partners in Children’s Services, Education, and SEND.

As a leader, you’ll support social workers and practitioners across our locality-based teams, helping them provide tailored support through assessments and plans under the Care Act. You’ll guide the team to creatively use resources, including technology and community assets, to enable young people to live independently.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a leader with a strong background in adult social care, social work, or OT, along with a deep understanding of legal and safeguarding frameworks. You should be passionate about equity, inclusion, and empowering young people to thrive.

Make a real impact.

Join us in creating a future where young people can flourish in Bath & North East Somerset.
