Main duties of the job

About the Role As an Extra Care Support Worker, you will: -Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing. -Promote tenants independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of care. -Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants. -Providing support to access third party and NHS services. -Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed. -Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives.

At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce.  This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.

What is Extra Care?

Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.

About You

Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential and full training will be provided.
