Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to be part of the Management Accounts Team.

This role involves large volumes of data analysis to be used within our month end process. It is a varied and fast paced role with often competing priorities.

We strive to provide the most accurate and in-depth financial assurances for the Finance Team as a whole and the wider business.

Main duties of the job

o Working within a team to complete reporting processes and provide robust monthly management accounts.o Assist in the delivery of timely and accurate financial advice/information to budget holders and their staff.o To provide support to the Finance Managers to service the needs of the Executive team.o To ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place and maintained to deliver the financial duties and objectives of the organisation.

Job responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1 To work closely with the Head of Finance, Finance Managers and budget holders to provide a comprehensive, timely and efficient service.2 Assist the Finance Managers in the preparation of monthly budget reports, including exception reporting and cost centre analyses in line with internal and external deadlines/timescales.3 Responsible for the collation and distribution of monthly budget reports and staff lists to budget holders in line with the monthly timetable, ensuring the circulation list is accurate and up to date.4 Responsible for the processing/input of journals into the finance ledger (Business Central), including validating the input to ensure that budget reports reflect accurate spend with appropriate accruals and prepayments.5 Adhere to Spectrums staffing establishment control procedures and report on key staffing information including bank, agency and overtime usage costs as required. Assist the Finance Managers in ensuring that all staff appointments are made via the correct process and withinrecurrent budget.6 Undertake financial analysis of budgets to produce and analyse financial trends and benchmark internally.7 Assist the Finance Managers in the preparation required for regular budget monitoring meetings to ensure that they are constructive and informative. This may involve the calculation of complexand sometimes sensitive information, relaying the information to budget holders where there may be barriers to understanding demonstrating persuasive skills to achieve financial savings and targets.8 Assist in the setting of robust budgets for the forthcoming year and provide monthlyreconciliations to the Finance Managers to enable them to provide an accurate and comprehensive monthly forecast for each cost centre.9 Ensure Spectrum Standing Financial instructions and financial procedures are complied with and any breach reported.10 To assist in the continuous improvement of service provision, procedures and practices to bewritten and reviewed regularly to improve the efficiency of the department with recommendations made where appropriate.11 To improve the accuracy of information by ensuring changes in stock, debtors and creditors (accruals and prepayments) are reflected correctly and necessary recharges are made.12 To assist the Head of Finance and Finance Managers with the actioning of audit recommendations where necessary. Liaise with both internal and external audit staff to provide information where required. Undertake internal audit reviews to ensure financial procedures are followed.13 To assist the Director of Finance and Head of Finance with financial contributions to the Annual Business Plan.14 Any other duties required, including a wide variety of ad-hoc reporting as determined by the Finance Managers, involving investigation and analysis.15 Ability to concentrate for long periods of time in regard to inputting and analysing data, reconciling and answering queries.
