Have you considered working in within the prison service at HMP Styal, a female prison centrally located in Cheshire,

We are looking for a qualified registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council to cover maternity leave for 30 hours per week, whilst we are primarily looking to cover with one individual, we are mindful of the need to be flexible and can match your availability with our work patterns and the needs of the service.

A welcome payment is payable to new staff joining Spectrum Community Health CIC.

Additional security clearance is mandatory.

Main duties of the job

Main duties involve supporting the pharmacy team to deliver a high standard pharmaceutical service to our patients at HMP Styal.You will be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations. The role will also include reviewing safe systems of working and controlled drug processes, clinical checking of prescriptions, developing pharmacist led clinics and medicines reviews, responsibility for providing daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe, cost effective but modern medicines management service is provided to our patients. You will also lead, manage and develop the pharmacy team.

Professional support and development will be offered through the pharmacy networks and support staff within the organisation.

Essential

  • Minimum Bachelor or Masters ( BPharm or MPharm) Degree in Pharmacy and further relevant post-graduate qualifications.
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
  • Undertaken training for clinical therapeutics to specialist level e.g. National Prescribing Centre therapeutic training.
  • Pharmacist, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Desirable

  • Non-medical prescribing qualification (or willing to undertake study).
  • Experience of non-medical prescribing.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum five years post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy.
  • Experience of working within primary care.
  • Experience of leading and implementing change within a health setting.
