Job summary
This is a new role to our Northeast cluster of prisons, providing a lead for Social Prescribing and managing campaigns across all 7 prison sites.
You will work collaboratively in conjunction with the management teams over multiple prison sites in the NE region to lead and implement the "Lets get Moving" public health campaign linked to Core20plus. This will involve working in partnership with multiple teams on different sites including HMPPS, primary care, mental health, key stakeholders as well as corporate team e.g. Marketing & Communications Team.
The role will lead the planning, organising, directing and the implementation of a timetable of all Public Health campaigns for the northeast prisons, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope. This will involve collaboration with Marketing & Communications Team to manage and implement all marketing campaigns, while also developing strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure programmes are delivered on time and the campaign journey is accurate and measurable.
This includes the new "Let's get moving" campaign supporting the Core20plus agenda and other campaigns as needed.
Main duties of the job
You will need to work flexibly across the Northeast sites to co-ordinate promote physical exercise initially and a shift to more person and community (prison) centred approach to health and wellbeing. A thorough knowledge of health inequalities is essential as the role will include health promotion and social prescribing activities e.g. related activities linked to horticulture, health and environmental awareness, physical activity. You will lead the Greener On the Outside Programme (GOOP) across the North East prisons.
This will require a full prison approach working with HMPPS colleagues and both physical healthcare, mental health and substance misuse. You will work collaboratively, with prisoners, healthcare, education and HMPPS to coproduce health promotion/prevention campaigns, both general and bespoke to each prison population, e.g., growing for healthy eating, exercise for mental wellbeing and successful rehabilitation and resettlement.
You will need to be skilled in IT and data analysis as a key aspect of the role will be reviewing and analysing complex data in order to develop campaigns and plans that are bespoke to each prison. This includes population metrics and gender specific data.
As the post holder will be required to be on site within a prison for some of their employment, they will be required to pass HMPPS vetting requirements.
