We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and inspirational operational senior leader looking to play a pivotal role in a diverse and rewarding healthcare setting?

This role is not just about operational management - it's about shaping the services at Spectrum at a pivotal time of transformation .

As Spectrum's Deputy Director of Operations and Performance you will be instrumental in supporting our strategic growth ambitions, working with our Executive Director of Operations and other senior leaders in the business to drive operational excellence and performance.

With significant and credible experience of senior operational management in a community and mental health environment preferably with Health and Justice, you will use a data driven and informed approach to compassionately lead and professionally manage staff and service contracts.

Main duties of the job

You'll be as adept at leading and managing tender responses and designing and mobilising new services as you are at leading system, process and transformation improvements to ensure effective service delivery - whilst always putting the patient at the heart of what you do!

Working for a market leading healthcare provider and a significant provider of health and justice healthcare in the North, you will be a key member of the Strategic Leadership Team. You will support the Executive Team in managing key stakeholders and customer relationships as an ambassador of Spectrum's core values, promoting our values driven culture and outcome-oriented business objectives.

With autonomy to act in line with Spectrum's Accountability and Performance Framework and Board Assurance Framework you will support the Executive Director of Operations through your advisory function to the Board.

Education and Training

Essential

  • Evidence of post graduate academic achievement and continuing professional/managerial and leadership development in more than one professional area/discipline.
  • Masters degree or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • NHS Leadership Development programmes (or equivalent).
  • Current healthcare professional registration

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Community and mental health operational experience at senior leadership level
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully leading major change programmes, including performance, and designing models of care.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing finance and budgets.
  • Experience, and understanding of, the work of NHS, local authority and regulators and inspection regimes.
  • Significant experience of building effective teams across multiple sites and networks, including across organisation boundaries and varying cultures.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of health service management, project management and change management across multiple disciplines.
  • Understanding of, and leading clinical governance systems and processes.
  • Experience in procurement, commissioning, tendering and contract monitoring
