Job summary

If you're ready for a new challenge, come and join our Health and Justice team!

Spectrum is recruiting a driven, ambitious nurse to lead our primary care team and drive forward clinical excellence across our healthcare service.

As Lead Nurse, you'll manage our skilled nursing team and provide effective clinical leadership on a wide range of issues. You'll also be passionate about patient care - with advanced nursing knowledge, an understanding of NICE guidelines and a desire to be involved with key decision-making.

In Spectrum, we don't believe in 'standing still'; we want our nurse leaders to challenge existing practice and have the courage to innovate for the good of our patients, so that we can keep on improving.

We need a nurse who can be a role model and mentor for our staff, support them to deliver the highest standards of evidence-based care and demonstrate proactive, visible leadership. You'll need the confidence to build relationships with a wide range of NHS partners, stakeholders, Prison authorities and Community services, and to engage actively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

In return, we'll give you a Welcome Payment bonus and a fantastic staff benefits package!

Main duties of the job

  • Working closely with our management team and key stakeholders, you will contribute to and deliver a comprehensive primary care health service.
  • You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, assisting and supporting others in undertaking physical and/or health assessments, providing a range of health treatments/interventions for prisoners, and contributing to the wider continuous development of prison healthcare services.
  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of the Primary Care Team, ensuring that the delegation of work takes into account the roles, skills and competence of staff
  • Support other senior managers in ensuring a high level of performance within the team is maintained, by participating in audits, Health and Justice Performance indicators, and NHS data collection activity.
