Job summary

Spectrum is committed to becoming an even more lived experience inclusive employer and we are looking for a Lived Experience and EDI Facilitator to help us drive this forward.

You will have personal and / or professional understanding of how lived experience cuts across both patient and staff experience. Personal lived experience can include: ill mental health, recovery, substance misuse, trauma, and experience of the criminal justice system or care system.

As a key member of the experience team within nursing and quality, you will:

  • provide specialist lived experience and EDI advice and support across the organisation, in line with national guidance
  • support the implementation of our Three phased plan with the focus on the Lived Experience Charter.
  • work in collaboration with key stakeholders e.g. Spectrum Staff Council, staff networks, NHSE, experience of care team, Career Matters, LEROs
  • be supporting and informing reviews and co-production of strategies and policies aligned to EDI and lived experience.
  • Work in partnership with our HR and OD department.
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and ability to enthuse people with your passion for lived experience and EDI.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be responsible for the coordination of initial phases of the Experience Framework implementation plan, liaising with sites and HR functions. You will be responsible for drawing on qualitive and quantitative data to drive lessons learnt and improvements in staff experience agenda.
  • Positively promote at all times a positive image of people with lived experience. Challenge discrimination where appropriate.
  • Your leadership support, visibility, engagement and interventions will drive a improvements in experience, co-production and feed directly to the IBP2025 Strategic ambitions, deputising as needed for the (Patient) Experience Lead.
  • You will support the development and action planning of the Workforce race Equality Standard (WRES) & Workforce Disability Equality Standard WDES and Lived Experience element of the staff survey results.

You will have passion for equality, diversity and inclusion, with personal or professional experience of supporting an organisation through change. You will understand why co-production is important and be able to advocate for it to be the quality improvement methodology of choice.
