Job summary

The Quality and Patient Safety Team are looking for someone to join the team in the role of Quality Lead. This is an opportunity to support the operational teams with the governance, quality and patient safety processes. This includes supporting incident management and investigations, quality improvement and learning; and with each service through monthly Quality and Performance meetings. There is a team of Quality Lead with varying previous experience, qualifications and skills - it is not essential to hold a clinical qualification but we would like to maintain the balance of the team with the preferred candidate able to demonstrate a firm understanding of clinical and professional aspects of delivery safe, effective and high quality care for all. You will need to be able to communicate with a wide range of people at all levels within and across organisations, ensuring that good working relationships are developed and maintained with the local community and other multi-agency groups. The right person will have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and be able to work independently to agreed deadlines. Some of the core skills required include the ability to analyse national, organisational and local data, review national guidance and strategies relevant to patient safety to ensure health professionals are alerted to developments and informed of changes.

Main duties of the job

Play a crucial supporting role in the clinical governance framework, systems and professional networks within Spectrum Community Health CIC, working towards improving quality of care for patients/service users. They will work in liaison with the Director of Nursing and Quality Assurance, Deputy Director of Nursing, Patient Safety Lead, Heads of Nursing, Heads of Service, Quality Manager and other disciplines in relation to the achievement of Care Quality Commission standards. Support the improvement of patient experience and quality of service provision through monitoring & quality improvement facilitation, in line with local and national quality markers within services. Ensure standards and recommendations identified in national publications and guidance are routinely applied. Facilitate and signpost how to access and integrate and implement high standards of care across all settings Promote positive relationships and collaborative learning environments through contribution to the quality improvement quarterly newsletters. Support and promote services to enable people to have equal access to good quality, person centred health care Support the implementation of agreed service change & integration; working closely with services, commissioners, national monitoring agencies (e.g. CQC) and other health & social care colleagues. Contribute to the work of groups and Forums in specialist areas as required.

  • Teaching and assessment qualification.

Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
