Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for CHCP CIC to recruit a Registered Manager for Sunshine House.

This is a newly developed post which requires an experienced and professional leader to join an established team of passionate and driven staff.

Sunshine House provides short break care to children and young people who have additional needs. It is really important that the successful person is committed to ensuring we deliver the best possible care to the children, young people and families who access Sunshine House, taking into account that each child, young person and family are unique.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is able to be registered with Ofsted as the Sunshine House Registered Manager. The right person will have leadership experience in a relevant field (for example, social care, youth work, health or education). You will hold a professional qualification and lead the team to meet the quality standards and regulations, whilst ensuring that Sunshine House is a wonderful place to visit, stay and work. You will have a deep understanding of how to meet the emotional, physical, social and communication needs of children and young people, including those who have complex needs. Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field (for example Health/Social Care)
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g SWE, NMC, HCPC)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services with Children and Young People's Residential Management Pathway. Or The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. (**If the post holder does not have the qualification already, there is a mandatory expectation that this is completed within 3 years of the start of the employment - This course is funded by CHCP, and a learning agreement will be in place**)

Desirable

  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent
  • Coaching Qualification

Knowledge

Essential

  • Significant knowledge and experience of leading a facility/setting/service for children and young people.
  • Knowledge and experience of service management and service delivery for healthcare services
  • Uses knowledge of the service to be able to make decisions on requirements of the service and its development and have experience of working creatively to develop new ways of working that embrace new technologies.
  • Developed knowledge of performance management requirements and process relating to the provision for safe service delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ofsted Children's Homes Regulations and Social Care Common Inspection Framework
  • In-depth knowledge of the OFSTED Quality Standards
  • A working understanding of relevant regulations and policies such as the Children and Families Act, The Care Act, Health and Social Care legislation, Safeguarding and Person-Centred Care Planning guidance

Desirable

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to process complex information and explain/present the information

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of working within a registered setting with children and young people (e.g children's home, school/short break care or education facility).
  • Experience of delivering, monitoring, and planning services.
  • Experience of established collaborative working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of collaborative working with a range of partners
  • Experience of successfully securing and delivering services in a multiagency environment

Desirable

  • Experience of undertaking Change Management, planning and implementing new ways of working
  • Experience of managing activity and performance targets
  • Experience of budget management
