Job summary
Opportunities for development into this role may be obtained if the candidate meets the entry level essential requirements detailed within the Person Specification. In order to successfully complete development into this role it will be necessary to fulfil a detailed development plan which will be designed on an individual bases, following recruitment.
A candidate successful for development will be paid a band 5. Only on completion of the development plan will the successful applicant be confirmed into the position outlined in the advertised Job Description.
If the successful candidate already meets the essential criteria of the higher banded role, they can commence as a band 6.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Respiratory Physiotherapist to join the Hull and East Riding Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service in a development to band 6 postThe team comprises of Specialist Respiratory Nurses, Clinical Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants, providing Pulmonary Rehabilitation and respiratory management for patients with chronic lung disease.
Due to the pandemic the service now delivers a Hybrid model of both face to face and virtual programmes, using digital resources and developing other ways to ensure patients receive the activity, education and support that Pulmonary Rehabilitation provides.

Main duties of the job
o Provide Pulmonary Rehabilitation and respiratory management to patients over the age of 18 who areregistered with a Hull or East Riding GP and meet the service criteria.o Support with the efficient delivery of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation service within Hull & East Riding ofYorkshire and to be involved in implementation of any change to service delivery.o Efficiently deliver Pulmonary Rehabilitation sessions within community-based settings/venues and to leadand manage the programme independently with access to Band 7 Clinical Specialist RespiratoryPhysiotherapist's via telephone.o To assess and manage patients who may have complex and / or chronic respiratory conditions. Todetermine clinical diagnosis/need and the physiotherapy intervention required. To maintain records as anautonomous practitioner in accordance with legislation, policy and service standard operating procedures.o To be responsible for a designated workload and to efficiently and effectively plan and organise patientmanagement and use of time.o Prioritise and manage a complex clinical case load and delegate responsibilities to Therapy Assistantswithin the team as appropriate.o Be accountable in own area of clinical responsibility, ensuring the delivery of evidence based clinicalinterventions and practice for a specialist case load linking in with key partners to provide holistic care.
