Job summary

CHCP have been successful in obtaining funding for a 12 month temporary/secondment Digital Support worker post. This will involve working with GP Practices to support Service Users accessing digital applications to enhance their health and wellbeing needs.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individual to join our existing Digital Support Worker and the Accessible Information team to drive this exciting project forward in a digitally enhanced environment.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant's role will include:

  • Supporting Service Users to virtually navigate health focussed digital applications.
  • Promoting and working with GP practice staff to improve their knowledge and awareness of digital health solutions for service users.
  • To report project outcomes and create case studies.
  • To engage and work with GP practices to develop and maintain a case load.
  • Work with Service Users in both a one to one and group setting.
  • To develop key connections within the health and social care setting to promote the importance of digital inclusion for the Service User cohort.
  • To identify, develop and create easy read and communication resources in line with the accessible information standard.

Essential

  • Level 3 qualification or working towards an equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care (or similar relatable subject area) or demonstrable equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Diploma in a relevant subject area (or equivalent experience)
  • OCR, ICDL or equivalent IT qualification

Knowledge

Essential

  • An understanding of the role of voluntary and community sector organisations and the contributions they can make to the health and wellbeing of individuals
  • Highly competent in the use of apps, including specialist IT systems and online services and promoting the benefits for individuals.
  • Understand existing and emerging online technologies and identify ways in which they can be utilised to enhance the customer offer
  • Knowledge of factors influencing behaviour and behaviour change approaches
  • An understanding of the barriers and challenges that people may face in engaging with digital technologies
  • An understanding of the importance of accurate record keeping and knowledge of information governance requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
