With a focus on collaboration across practices, the development of more effective triage services and the increased use of new technology, we continue to improve the experience of Primary Care for both staff and patients.
Based at Satis House in Birmingham, we are on a mission to recruit talented, qualified GP on a temporary basis to support us in our mission to deliver a service where patients quickly and easily receive the right care from the right person, at the right time, in the right place!
This isnt just our mission for patients, it is designed with our people in mind too, to ease the pressure of the 8am rush and demand vs. capacity!
Main duties of the job
Tracking our performance against nationally established goals, leads us to deliver better, more streamlined patient care, helps us to reduce the administrative burden and increase the uptake and ease of access to care. We have an extensive multi-disciplinary team who are keen to innovate and utilise their varied skillset and we are seeking talented individuals like you to become a part of it!
You will work to ensure that quality is at the heart of everything we do within the surgery, adhering to our clinical governance framework and forming part of our clinical team, providing high quality care to our patients.

Job responsibilities
Clinical:
Provide
clinical care (including associated administration) via face to face, telephone
and digital consultations, this may include home visits.
Prescribe
medications, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to guide patient
management.
Manage
chronic conditions, acute illnesses, and minor injuries, providing continuity
of care for patients.
Offer
preventive healthcare services such as vaccinations, health screenings, and
health promotion advice.
Collaborate
as needed with external stakeholders, to facilitate coordinated care for
patients.
Triage Hub:
Participate in the clinical rota for the triage hub.
Provide ongoing clinical advice and support to enable the
navigation team to triage patients effectively when undertaking triage
sessions.
Triage and/or treat patient queries assigned to the GP.
Safeguarding:
Be vigilant
to potential safeguarding concerns and familiarise yourself with those patients
considered a greater risk.
Understand
the protocols and processes for safeguarding concerns and escalate without
delay.
Seek
advice, guidance and support as needed from the Designated Safeguarding Lead
and/or Group Manager for safeguarding concerns.
Professional
Development:
Stay
abreast of developments in primary care medicine, evidence-based practices, and
clinical guidelines through continuing medical education and professional
development activities.
Keep up to
date with all mandatory and relevant training. Attend sessions and workshops as
directed by the Clinical Lead or Group Manager.
Engage in
peer learning and clinical supervision to enhance clinical skills and
knowledge.
Contribute
to the training and education of medical students, junior doctors, and other
healthcare professionals as appropriate.
Clinical
Governance and QOF:
Work with the leadership team to ensure national targets for
patient access and care are met (including targets for QOF, IIF, Delivery plan
for recovering access to Primary Care, APMS Contract targets).
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, clinical
protocols, and best practices in primary care.
Participate in practice meetings, quality assurance
activities, and clinical audits to support practice management and improvement
efforts.
Manage time effectively to balance clinical responsibilities,
administrative tasks, and professional development activities.
