Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a female support worker to work alongside a client with complex needs, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and tetraplegia, in Caldicot, Monmouthshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the client with personal care, medication, feeding, and manual handling, as well as engaging in various activities and providing emotional support.

Main duties of the job

The client is a lady in her 20s who, due to a brain injury, has complex needs that require extensive support. The successful candidate will need to have previous experience working with individuals with complex needs and brain injury/cerebral palsy, possess a full UK driving license, and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role involves supporting the client with daily living activities, administering medication, providing emotional support, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

We have an excellent opportunity for a female support worker to work alongside our client in Caldicot, Monmouthshire.

Our client is a lady in her 20's who due to brain injury has complex needs, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy and tetraplegia so  requires support with things such as personal care, medication, feeding and manual handling. She lives at home with her parents, in a self contained interconnecting bungalow from the main house which includes a therapy room where she receives a range of treatments (hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, occupational health, music therapy and reflexology) She enjoys hand on activities like crafts, sensory, cooking and baking but also loves music.

Due to the clients support needs the successful candidate will need to be female with previous experience working with complex needs and brain injury/cerebral palsy, have a full UK driving licence and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship.

Pay:  £17.60 per hour

Hours: Waking nights (21:00 - 08:00/09:00 nights, Monday – Sunday)

  • Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Reliability, commitment, and flexibility.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
