Main duties of the job

Your responsibilities will include supporting the client's attendance and active participation in school activities, encouraging engagement in out-of-school experiences that align with his energetic and independent personality, providing specialist medical care when required, such as managing central lines and gastrostomy needs, and ensuring his mobility and independence are supported safely while fostering confidence and self-reliance.

While requiring specialist care, he is full of energy and enthusiasm for life. Your role will involve supporting him at school, enabling him to engage in a variety of activities, and helping him enjoy his independence safely and confidently.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Paediatric Health Care Assistant, you’ll tailor your care to meet the specific needs of your client while encouraging his independence. Your responsibilities include:  

- Supporting his attendance and active participation in school activities.  

- Encouraging engagement in out-of-school experiences that align with his energetic and independent personality.  

- Providing specialist medical care when required, such as managing central lines and gastrostomy needs.  

- Ensuring his mobility and independence are supported safely while fostering confidence and self-reliance.  

 

Experience and Training:

While previous experience in the following areas is beneficial, **full training will be provided** for suitable candidates:  

- Central Line Management  

- Central Line Safety  

- Gastrostomy Replacement

- Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to the needs of an independent and active child.  

- Enthusiastic about working with children and supporting their development in school and the community.  

- Physically capable of managing the demands of an energetic and mobile young client.
