Job responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Andover, Hampshire. Our client is a young boy who lives at home with his family and beloved family dog. We are looking for a support worker who has experience with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Brain Injury. Due to the location of the client and the responsibilities, we are looking for a support worker who can drive & has access to their own vehicle. 

Pay Rate: £16 - £18 per hour

Working Hours:

This is a Bank role so we will call upon support workers to cover annual leave/sickness when required. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Engaging with personalised routines and therapies as set out by professionals.
• Completing daily living activities like sensory play.
• Supporting client with their communication aides.
• Constant monitoring of their health conditions and behaviours to maintain safety.
• Providing emotional support and companionship.
• Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
• Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
• To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work the specified hours.

Training & Background Checks: An enhanced DBS check & full training will be provided prior to commencing work with our client and you will also be supported by our clinical lead nurse for the area.
