Job summary

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will engage the child through play, storytime, and activities that help foster emotional and cognitive development, while respecting their comfort and needs during palliative care. You will provide reassurance, cuddles, and comfort when the child is distressed or in need of support, ensuring they feel loved and secure. You will also offer compassionate care in the child's final stages of life, providing comfort and support to both the child and family. Building a trusting, positive relationship with the child and their family is essential, ensuring their needs are met with kindness, respect, and compassion throughout this emotional time.

Healthcare Assistant Waking Nights  – Dorchester Area Hourly Pay: £17.00 Location: Dorchester Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, 10.00PM – 8.00 AM About the Role: Enviva, part of the Sonderwell Group, is looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to provide exceptional care to a child in the Dorchester area who is in need of palliative care. This is a unique and deeply rewarding role, where you will not only provide physical care but also offer emotional comfort, interaction, and support during this challenging time. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will engage in activities like playtime and reading, and offer comfort and cuddles when needed, ensuring the child feels secure, loved, and cared for. In this palliative care role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, providing the highest quality of care and emotional support to the child and their family in a home setting. Key Responsibilities: Interactive Care: As a Healthcare Assistant, you will engage the child through play, storytime, and activities that help foster emotional and cognitive development, while respecting their comfort and needs during palliative care. Emotional Comfort: Provide reassurance, cuddles, and comfort when the child is distressed or in need of support, ensuring they feel loved and secure. Palliative Care: Offer compassionate care in the child’s final stages of life, providing comfort and support to both the child and family. Family Communication: Build a trusting, positive relationship with both the child and their family, ensuring their needs are met with kindness, respect, and compassion throughout this emotional time.
