Job summary

We are looking for a BSE-accredited Echocardiographer to join our Torbay team. As the leading provider of outpatient echocardiography services across Devon & Cornwall, our service provision is growing rapidly and we are looking for another experienced echocardiographer/cardiac physiologist to join the team. We are open to part-time and flexible working arrangements.

Main duties of the job

Echocardiogram Examinations:

Conduct comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms independently, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality images and precise measurements.

Analyse echocardiographic data thoroughly to provide accurate and detailed diagnostic reports.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Adhere to current BSE guidelines and NHS standards in all echocardiographic procedures, particularly adhering to Ultracardiacs Reporting Template and Dataset.

Participate in regular quality assurance and audit activities to maintain and enhance service standards.

Communication and Reporting:

Effectively communicate echocardiographic findings with referring clinicians and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all echocardiographic examinations and reports in patient records, maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards.

Professional Development:

Stay updated with advancements in echocardiography and integrate best practices into clinical work.

Engage in continuous professional development, including attending relevant training sessions and courses.

Mentorship and Collaboration:

Provide guidance and support to junior staff and echocardiography students, fostering a learning environment.

Patient Care:

Deliver compassionate and patient-centred care, ensuring a positive experience for all patients undergoing echocardiographic examinations.

About us

Opening our first clinic back in 2017, Ultracardiac has to-date provided over 80,000 echocardiograms to patients across the South West across primary care, secondary care and private pathways. Working with the majority of the NHS Trusts and iCBs in the area, we have proven ourselves to be a reputable, trusted and quality independent sector provider.

Our service provision is expanding and the demand for quality outpatient diagnostics has never been higher. We are supporting many of the new Community Diagnostic Centres that are opening this year, and are opening more of our own clinics in the region too. We also have started exciting opportunities such as providing an echocardiogram service on the Channel Island, Guernsey.

We have a 100% Peer Review process and utilise our cloud-based reporting and archiving system to promote a collaborative and learning-centred approach to reporting and reviewing, meaning that as part of the 45-minute time slot for an echocardiogram to be completed and reported, everybody also reviews another echocardiographers study and adds their feedback prior to it being signed-off.

Expectations:

Maintain a professional demeanour and uphold the values and standards of Ultracardiac Ltd.

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.

Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the echocardiography services.
