Job summary
Time 4 U Limited are recruiting an additional Client Housing & Welfare Support Officer to work within our busy Supported Living organisation, delivering
support and advice to the vulnerable adults we support in the community. This position
is on a full time basis and will be reporting to the Housing Manager.
We welcome experience from diverse disciplines and
backgrounds and full training will be provided
Main duties of the job
Maximise the income of the residents and assist in sustaining their tenancies through applying for Universal Credit, Housing Benefits and Discretionary Housing Payment.
-Deliver excellent support to the residents in the areas of identifying and applying for other welfare benefits they might qualify for, i.e., Personal Independence Payment, Disability Living Allowance, Council Tax Reductions or Exemptions.
-To liaise with the DWP and Local Authorities on behalf of the residents, where required, to progress their claims.
-To visit the residents and offer on-going regular support in the areas of budgeting, utility bills management and to offer information or signposting for debt management.
-To maintain awareness of developments in relation to Welfare Reform and Benefit legislation, policy and regulation.
-To deal with correspondence, maintenance of records and files while ensuring the internal processes, systems, policies and procedures are adhered to.
-To attend to any other duties that may be reasonably required by the Housing Manager and the Director.
