Job summary

To lead and coordinate clinical skills-based training, professional discussion, and competency-based assessment for clinical staff across all centres, including supporting and mentoring the Nurse Trainers to allow them to carry out their roles effectively and when absent, assuming their role.

To take responsibility for the staff upgrading across Centres as per the organisations internal pathways ensuring patient safety is maintained and to ensure all care delivered is accurately and appropriately documented.

Main duties of the job

To supervise, mentor and support the Registered Nursing Staff, including annual appraisal to assist them to carry out their roles effectively. In conjunction with the Clinical Services Manager, ensure all care staff have a named/ nominated individual to undertake their supervision/ appraisal as necessary.

Job responsibilities

Senior Nurse Trainer

Contract: Permanent Full-Time 40h per week (including paid breaks)

Scope: Responsible for Nurse training for the Group, managing a team of 2, and deputising for the Learning & Development Manager

Salary: £57,500 per annum

Benefits: Company pension scheme

Duties & Responsibilities:

Organise, oversee, and facilitate the Induction program for staff members new to the organisation and bespoke in-service training as required.

Collate and prepare monthly reports for the Learning and Development Manager on deliverables set by the Executive Board such as internal upskilling progress, clinical competency and training completion across Centres (this list is not exhaustive).

To be a role model for all staff groups, demonstrating a professional and pro-active approach to clinical leadership whilst providing advice, guidance, and support to clinical staff, with a focus on all our Nurses.

Person Specification:

UK Registered Nurse with an active PIN

Level 3 aware in Education and Training (or equivalent), Ideally: Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent)

At least 3 years leadership experience, and strong people management skills

Facilitating training sessions in a similar setting, both face to face and virtually

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and stakeholder management

Good IT skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel and PowerPoint)

Ideally: experience with Ventilator and Tracheostomy Care

Location: this role requires attending our three centres in Purley, Banstead and West Norwood we are flexible regarding a work pattern that works for you
