Job summary
The Clinical Support Manager plays a central role in ensuring that services are delivered to the highest clinical, legal and operational standards. This role combines clinical expertise, operational oversight and leadership of the HUB and field based teams. Main duties of the job
The Clinical Support Manager is responsible for ensuring that Prometheus delivers safe, lawful and high quality care across secure transport and complex care services. The role combines operational management of the HUB, leadership of frontline teams and expert oversight of Mental Health Act requirements. This post requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage real time operational pressures and the confidence to guide staff, liaise with external agencies and uphold Prometheus standards.

Job responsibilities
- Taking full responsibility for the HUB, ensuring all operations run efficiently and issues are resolved promptly
- Coordinating service delivery for Secure Transport and Complex Care, including alignment with contractual requirements, authorisation processes and billing accuracy
- Monitoring call quality, supporting performance improvement and providing coaching and feedback to team members
- Ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines, policies, protocols and best practice standards
- Managing shift planning, attendance escalation and task allocation to ensure consistent coverage and safe service delivery
- Using performance data to understand trends and support continuous improvement
- Providing leadership and guidance to staff handling complex calls, escalations or challenging situations
- Collaborating with other team leaders and stakeholders to maintain consistent service delivery and resolve operational issues
- Leading improvements in HUB processes and systems and encouraging team involvement in innovation activity
- Delivering team meetings and training sessions that support skills development and positive team culture
- Exercising expert oversight of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and DoLS, ensuring that patients are conveyed and supported lawfully and in line with the Code of Practice
- Liaising with external professionals including Approved Mental Health Professionals to ensure lawful detention and conveyance

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC registration
- At least two years post registration experience within mental health or a related healthcare setting
- Leadership experience with exposure to clinical practice and quality improvement in acute, community or secure mental health services
- Strong working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended 2007, the Use of Force Act 2018, the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and the Health and Care Act 2022
Desirable
- Competence applying the Mental Health Act in clinical settings and supporting others to do the same
- Experience providing clinical supervision, mentorship and guidance to clinical staff
- Experience managing clinical incidents including safeguarding concerns
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet performance targets
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate compassionately and effectively at all organisational levels
- Ability to influence and negotiate in complex or pressured situations
