We are able to offer an exciting and challenging role for an experienced operational healthcare leader to join us as Operations Director, leading on the development and delivery of our operational strategy and plans.

Main duties of the job

As Operations Director you will lead in all operational functions and play a crucial role in steering the company towards achieving its strategic objectives, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining our status as a leader in the sector. You will hold budgetary responsibility for the operations department, ensuring it is cost-effective and profitable, with KPIs to assess and improve quality and efficiency.

As a suitable candidate you will have a strong track record of operational leadership roles within healthcare, or related sector, ideally with knowledge of ambulance services or patient transportation. You will have excellent people management skills and the ability to build, lead and develop high-performing teams. You will have experience in quality assurance and risk management and be able to implement robust processes to reflect best practice.

  • Operations Management: Oversee daily operations by management of Service Delivery management team, including the fleet and any other support services as required to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance of internal and external KPIs.
  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute strategic operational plans to drive efficient services.
  • Change Management: Lead change initiatives to drive efficiency and improve service delivery and effectively address operational challenges.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the financial aspects of the operations department, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability through the maximisation of staff utilisation.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement and monitor key performance indicators to assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
