Job summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary individual to join our team as Chief Nurse. The successful candidate will align with our mission of delivering outstanding patient care across all of our insourced services.

As the Chief Nurse, you will hold ultimate accountability for patient experience, ensuring that our services consistently meet the highest standards of quality and compassion.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing professional leadership to our nursing and allied health professional staff and will be expected to collaborate with our Medical Director and Clinical Leads to uphold clinical governance and effectiveness.

Main duties of the job

The Chief Nurse will make an important contribution towards developing, promoting and delivering the companys strategic vision for providing safe and effective clinical services.

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational leader who will champion our values and build, lead, motivate and develop our clinical teams to improve performance and maintain excellent service performance.

We provide insourced clinical services that have proved to help reduce patient backlogs and alleviate pressures caused by capacity shortages. Our service catalogue includes a wide range of insourcing services that have been designed to help eradicate existing and/or projected patient backlogs and helps support patients from the general public receive a prompt diagnosis.

Our services are proven to:

  • Provide additional in-house capacity.
  • Maintain or improve Diagnostics Waiting Times and Activity (DM01) or Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets.
  • Reduce the risks inherent with delayed diagnosis.

Our insourcing services are delivered from the customers premises, utilising existing unused NHS equipment, IT systems and processes and are often delivered outside of standard working hours. This economical solution promotes efficiency by optimizing spare resources.

To demonstrate clinical effectiveness, our services include clinical audits, discrepancy and/or complaints management (when required) and the continuous monitoring of patient satisfaction.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies to embed governance principles across the divisions ensuring that our SOPs and delivery of services are fit for purpose.
  • Provide professional leadership to nursing and allied health professional staff with support from Medicare's Medical Director and clinical governance department.
  • Develop and update clinical policies and procedures. Make clinical recommendations whilst ensuring that patient safety and clinical effectiveness is at the forefront of everything we deliver.
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team. Assist customers with understanding and implementing governance best practices.
  • Assist in the development of new service lines, ensuring that appropriate governance frameworks are established from inception. Conduct regular reviews of existing services to ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with governance, clinical and compliance issues. Ensuring these are communicated to the team and solutions are delivered to prevent identified risk is appropriate.
  • Manage the concerns process from end to end working alongside the NHS where appropriate.
  • Establish metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of governance initiatives and the delivery of these to clients. Including patient outcomes, incidents, complaints, and patient feedback.
  • To attend client Service Review meeting to discuss performance against the KPIs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address areas of improvement.
  • Evaluate and improve governance processes and procedures to enhance organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • To challenge and implement change where necessary by collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation, including clinicians, managers, and senior leaders, to promote a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.
  • Lead efforts to embed ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards into the organisation's daily processes and procedures ensuring that the organisation is audit ready for annual renewal.
  • Provide training and education to staff members on governance principles, ISO standards, and related procedures.
